King kong the beast?
Watched King kong yesterday with my family. The movie really touched my heart....was crying throughout the movie. Oh well, i am the emotional type after all. Before watching i roughly had an idea what the story's gonna be about....but that did not take away any excitement to the story at all.

IT started with an introduction, a background on what the situation was in the 1930s during the great depression. How bad times was and how life was going at that time. At the same time, the characters in the story were all well developed....to the point where one is able to understand why the characters did what they did in the story.

The first part during the introduction was a little draggy though...cos i was anticipating the entrance of the big king kong, which came late in the movie. But it was well worth the wait..cos ever since he was introduced, the movie just went up and up in terms of excitement and action. King kong's a real endearing character. Despite having a tough image, there were many moments where its inner self was revealed. The way he played with Ann (the lead girl), pulling her up and pushing her over again, was really cute. Simple things like that could easily make him happy. The way he played with Ann on the frozen river was so cute and touching that it made me tear. Such a big giant, yet so easily contented. I was particularly touched by the way he would go out of his way, give his all to save Ann. One would never expect that a giant ape could battle a T-Rex, what more, 3 T-rexes single handedly (that i mean literally). IT was saddenly to see him leave the battle with lots of scars, and wounds....enough to make me tear again. The selflessness he showed, the courage he showed, all make me wish that i was the girl in the movie. Not even the man Ann loved would go to such great lengths to protect her.

There were also many small details in the movie which gave clues on the background of king kong. Like the skeletons of King kongs in the cave....made me realise that he's the last of his kind, and that he had probably led a lonely life battling all the other creatures on the island till Ann came. In his case he was alone against the rest of the world. The native humans, the dinosaurs, the bats, and the insects were all out to get him, but yet he manage to hold his own against them. Sigh....what a poor giant ape.

Perhaps that's why he was so possesive over the small prize he got in the shape of Ann Darrow. Ann, the only thing that made him happy after so long....the only one that bothered to entertain him and keep him company. It was a sweet sweet relationship between the beauty and the "beast".

The ending was horrid - in the sense that i hated what man did to King kong. Captured him, treated him like a captive, made him a money-making machine, excuse/path to fame and money, treated him like a monster...when the real beast/monster was really the humans. Humans who had no regard for the life of an animal, humans who did not bother to give him a chance, or a path to life. It was saddening really....the way the movie ended. I can't help crying when i saw the poor king kong falling prey to humans with an outstretched hand towards Ann, and when the mighty king kong was finally defeated by the biplanes who shot thousands of times at him on top of the empire state building, and the way he pushed Ann out of the way when he took on the planes. Such a gentle giant.......

oh well....this must be my favourite movie of the year. I cant help but keep thinking of the whole story over and over again. I'm a sucker for such tearjerkers....but i know im not the only one. Cos the female toilet was filled with red-eyed females after the movie ended. Oh, the visual effects were great as well. I was half-expecting to see a fake-looking Kong appear in front of me. But boy was i glad to be disappointed in this case. The king kong i saw was life like....and human like to a certain extent. Everything looked so real to me...perhaps except for the creepy crawlies. Surely a worth-watching show. really feel like watching this again though....as i said, i'm a sucker for such tearjerkers....

zzzzz..
dont feel the urge to blog these days...does that mean that hasn't been much happening in my life? I reckon so. Cos these days i've either been playing volleyball or maple story. There's not much "other things" i've been doing. Sigh....what a life. A month of holidays is almost gone and i will have to work continously for half a year till June starting jan 3rd. Sounds sad to me. No more slacking, school holidays, or naps as and when i wish. I will miss school....but i wont miss the exams..hehe

Just got my exam results...surprising, it's better than what i expected but i still feel disappointed. I guess i dont expect a tremendous improvement over that of the past year's but i feel i can do better. Hard work does pay off sometimes....though not all.

Finally met kris after so long...feels good to meet my friends once again...especially after so long. Then again, it makes me feel kinda sad that im only able to meet all my good friends once in a blue moon. Same goes for my dear Eileen who's in the UK...sigh.

Been sick for the past 11/2 weeks. Wonder when i'm gonna be completely healed. So sick of waking up every day to a blocked nose and a sore throat...can't even sing properly now....sigh....

oh well.....dunno what im writing anymore...just wanna rant above of boring life....christmas is coming and mummy is cooking turkey for the first time...muahahaha...wonder how it will turn out. Hope everyone will have a Great Christmas!!!

My new hairstyle!!!!
So sick of my boring, straight, rebonded hair whose ends fail to stay rebonded, flyaway ends, and frizzy hair, and hence i decided to go....for a perm!!! My first ever perm in my entire life....was kinda scary, but nothing could have stopped me then....
Perming in process.....wonder how my hair will turn out....hmmm...
Ta da....my new hairstyle!!! Looks pretty alright to me, but somehow i look kinda old now. No one will say i look 18, 19 anymore =(

My hair from the side...my favourite view of all! It looks really nice!!!

Hair a day later, without combing, after waking up.

Still gotta get used to my curls though. Gone were the days when i can run my fingers through my hair at will and comb my hair incessively. Now i no longer need to comb my hair, nor use all sorts of hair products to keep my hair straight. I could just wake up, scrunch my hair, and just go out like that without other people knowing that ive just woke up. Sounds pretty good to me....but im still a little not used to that fact....since i've had straight hair for 21 years already...
